May 17th-20th, we will celebrate the 62nd year of the Bucking Horse Sale! The “Cowboy Mardi Gras” is alive and well! Our format is similar to last year with preference given to proven, bred to buck, Bulls and Broncs. We are limiting consignments, so consign early.

Friday, May 18th is Bulls Only! We will feature a Classic Challenge for any age bull. $250 entry fee, 100% payout and $1500 Added. Limited to 25 Bulls and paying 1 place for every 5 head. Placing determined by judges scores. Entry Fees and catalog info due by May 15, 2011. Bring your good ones as it will pay well. Consignors have the option to sell Classic entries.
The Open Bull Sale will follow the Classic. These bulls will all sell. $1000 added with a maximum of 30 entries. Riders are by invite only so if you know interested bull riders have them call Derrick Tvedt - 406-951-0020.
Saturday, May 21st will feature Broncs and Bares. The Bucking Horse Classic is open to 25 proven or breeder horses, any age. (No Studs unless proven and all horses must be 3 years or older and 900#.) $250 Entry Fee, 100% Payout, $2500 Added and the option to sell.
There is no entry fee for the open portion. Consignments are capped at 50. $2500 Bucks for Broncs with $500 to the consignor of the top 3 head and $2000 to the top 4 individuals, Bares and Broncs combined. Commissions are the same for bulls and horses, 8% with an $80 Minimum. On No Sales – 8% of the last bid, $80 minimum.
Remember, sale numbers are limited so consign early! Receiving dates are Thursday, May 17 and Friday, May 18. In most cases we can keep consignments separate. Out of state horses require a Coggins. All Class open horse sale will be Sunday, May 20 at the yards starting at 9:00 am. Call us early if you need additional information. Consignments forms are on our website.
Other events you may enjoy include horse racing and there is a big steak fry and concert Thursday night. Indian Relay Races May 13th and 20th. Mutton Busting and our Matched Bronc Ride on Sunday, May 20th. It is a fun, wild and un-orchestrated event. The last of its kind! Come early and stay late. RVs welcome!
